ABOUT ME

During my first year on council (2024) I championed and supported legislation to spread housing growth throughout the city instead of concentrating it in our most vulnerable and diverse parts of our City. I also pushed back and voted against efforts to gut all of our social services for the City except for an embedded social worker– allowing us to retain one other staff. I also pushed for the implementation of two red light traffic cameras at two of our most dangerous intersections as a way to keep residents safer, including people walking and driving in our most diverse and marginalized community. We finalized a comprehensive plan that I believe balanced the need to preserve critical areas while also planning for a lot more housing, not just because the state requires us, but also because it's the right thing to so.

I am proud of the work we have accomplished on the city council, but there is still much to do. That’s why I continue to fight for various housing types, addressing ongoing budget challenges, working on creative solutions to increase revenue, and supporting multi-modal transportation throughout our city. With your support, I will continue my work as a council member addressing the most pressing and urgent issues Edmonds faces.

My family and I love living in Edmonds, and we enjoy the strong sense of community here throughout all of our neighborhoods! This is where my husband and I are raising our youngest daughter, and where so many of our friends are. We also love our community’s vast diversity, and want to be a part of our city’s evolution. While we face serious challenges, we also have an exciting opportunity to shape a future that is thriving and inclusive for all.

I’m running for re-election because my life is about service. It’s vital that we foster an environment where everyone feels respected and heard, that everyone has a role in being an important part of our growth. I have the proven leadership that is needed to address our most pressing issues and have the experience and skills to work collaboratively on Edmonds’ priorities.

As a Councilmember, and a former member of the Snohomish County Planning Commission and the Edmonds Citizen Tree Board, I’ve been in the position to hear first-hand many of the policy, planning, development, housing, and growth issues that are important to our community. This experience has prepared me to look out for Edmonds community members to ensure that we are adequately addressing both our current and future needs. It’s imperative that we shape development in a way that meets the needs of all community members and business owners while protecting our environment and increasing our community's quality of life.

You deserve a city council member who has a demonstrated history of solving complex problems and has proven that they can bring people together for meaningful collaboration which is focused on finding common ground to create solutions that make sense.

As a working mom and wife, I have decades of experience working in multiple sectors, including both corporate, health care, and non-profit. In my current role as Vice President of Programs for Volunteers of America Western Washington, I work closely with many area officials and their staff, as well as many partners to address the human service needs of our county.

Most importantly, I am running for re-election because I love Edmonds and want to see it work for everyone. I am excited for our future, and I will work hard both to earn your vote and as your council member.

Please reach out. I’d appreciate hearing about what’s important to you and what you too love about our city!
